1. JETTING PERFORMANCE

Key elements such as PSI (pressure), GPM (flow rate), altitude, nozzle condition and type, hose diameter, hose length (which affects pressure due to friction loss), and the number of bends in the pipe all influence performance. Operator experience also plays a major role. Notably, hot water jetters generally clean nearly twice as efficiently as cold water jetters of the same specifications.
2. ASSESSING PIPE SIZE AND LENGTH
Consider the types of lines you’ll be cleaning—whether sewer, lateral, or storm drains—and their potential future requirements. For pipe runs between 100 to 300 feet, a smaller diameter hose typically suffices.
